Coaches: Is the Stress of Caring for Everyone But Yourself Finally Getting to You?

Dear Coach, You are kind, caring, and compassionate. You have dedicated yourself to helping others. It is your life’s calling, your mission. You enjoy your work and would rather be doing it than anything else in the world. Lately however, you have been feeling different. Your unhealthy lifestyle is causing you stress rather than making you more stress-resistant. Your runaway mind jumps from one stressful thought to another. You worry excessively and over-think everything, especially the things you cannot control. You feel overwhelmed with responsibilities and demands that leave you exhausted...

Coaches: Why You Need my New Stress Coaching Course

Dear Coach, You have dedicated your life to helping others. It is your life’s calling, your mission but lately you feel caught between caring for your own children and aging parents and your clients. The stress and strain of being sandwiched in the middle is starting to get to you.     Stress is Complicated If you are like me, you probably get insulted when so-called, “stress coaches” try to sell you band-aid approaches to managing stress. You know, they lead-in with lines like “Banish Your Stress Forever” or “Be Stress Free in 10 Minutes” etc. The...

Reduce Stress and Operate at Peak Efficiency

For the past couple of days I have been writing about how ironic it is that helpers, people just like you who have dedicated themselves to helping others reduce their stress, reach their goals, and live lives filled with passion and purpose have lost those very qualities themselves. I think you can see that it isn’t only what you do, but also how much you do that contributes to your stress. Finding that balance between what you do and how...

Stress Caused by FUN Things

How can stress be caused by FUN things??? In the past couple of blogs I’ve described how ironic it is that helpers, people just like you who have dedicated themselves to helping others reduce their stress, reach their goals, and live lives filled with passion and purpose have lost those very qualities themselves. So many helpers I know are overwhelmed by too many demands and commitments and not enough time to meet them.   I have been there myself and what I find most ironic is that my overload often is the result of taking on too many commitments that I love and enjoy. That is the...

How do You Reduce Stress?

How do You Reduce Stress?

Reduce, as a line of defense works by helping you find your optimal level of stimulating activities and demands (what some people incorrectly call stress or bad stress). Stimulating activities are fun things that you enjoy. Demands are things you must do such as clean the house, get your oil changed etc. They are not necessarily stressors, just demands on your time. Sometimes it isn’t what we do that causes stress, it is how much we take on that is the culprit. When you take on more than you can handle your brain tells your body, “I can’t cope with this.” As soon as this happens your brain...
